This week let’s write an origami poem. It may not be obvious but I think there are a lot of similarities between the art of poetry and the art of origami. Grab a piece of paper, fold in a poem and post it in the comments below.
This week let’s write an origami poem. It may not be obvious but I think there are a lot of similarities between the art of poetry and the art of origami. Grab a piece of paper, fold in a poem and post it in the comments below.
Both poetry and origami are forms of art that require precision, attention to detail, and an ability to transform something seemingly ordinary into something extraordinary. In poetry, words are carefully chosen and arranged to create meaning and evoke emotion, just as in origami, a piece of paper is meticulously folded and shaped to create a beautiful object. Both forms of art require patience, creativity, and an openness to experimentation and exploration. They both offer a way to express oneself and connect with others in a deeply meaningful way, whether through the written word or a delicate paper creation.
Here is my submission.

Nice work. I never would’ve thought to rhyme origami and dreamy. Thanks for sharing!

(a poem for a card to my wfe celebrating 100 months together (tomorrow)… yes, we celebrate “Luniversaries”.)
100 Months
—————-
five fingers on my hand
meld with
five fingers on yours
you place your others between mine
my dormant hand
forgotten how to move
ten by ten
folded together
a span of months
a span of lifetimes
that cannot span
the expanse of love
that grows from our hearts
encompassing all we can see
