Monday Poetry Prompt: Useless

This week let’s a useless poem. A lot of people out there think poetry is useless but we know better. Write about something that is useless or maybe about those times when you feel useless. Whatever you choose to write put it to good use by posting it in the comments below.

  1. In honor of this morning’s snow:

No Reason to Get Too Enthusiastic

It’s useless to put all my sweaters away.
They tell me it’s spring, but it’s snowing.
I want to get out all my gardening gear,
but all of my flowers are hiding.

It’s useless to lace up my hiking boots.
The trails are icy and slippery.
Even the deer wear their ice skates.
The postman is using a snowboard.

It’s useless to think that the sun will come out
    any sooner than maybe September.

  2. REALITY HITS

I don’t ever want you feel sad
    But wishful thinking is useless
I don’t even know if you are ok
Now I am no longer in your life
