This week let’s write a green poem without using the word “green”. That color has come to represent a lot in our language so let’s play with that. It’s not easy but post your poem in the comments below.

“Nature’s Bold Canvas”
In a land where the grass meets the sky,
And the trees stretch their arms, reaching high,
Nature’s palette is bold,
In the tales it has told,
Underneath the vast, open sky.

This was published two years ago in Medusa’s Kitchen. I’ve always loved this poem.
Green Gate
I walked this path
with you before
the grass stained
footsteps green.
No gate, no barrier
could keep
our joyful laughs
contained.
But now the path
is overgrown.
Stillness makes
no sound.
Green gate
a guard,
a reprimand
to keep
our shadows out.

A fascinating poem but no points for this prompt. Sorry, it uses the word “green” twice. Still, it’s got me thinking.

I didn’t see anything in the instructions about only using the word “green” once. Do I need coffee?

I definitely need more coffee, and one less migraine. Now I see where it says not to use the word green. Sheesh. My bad.

I’m a prompt stickler, even with great poetry.

RAINBOW MOODS
Violet comforts me with her sympathetic hand
Indigo sinks me into an ocean of sadness
Blue gives me freedoom to rise above
Green guides me towards hope
Yellow brightens evey cell in me
Orange infuses me with ecstatic happiness
Red captivates me with excitement

A lovely spectrum poem. Well done!
However, I must point out it does not fulfill the prompt since you used the word green in the 4th line.

THE COLOURS OF NATURE
Grass, sky and sand
Are my favourite colours
Wherever I am
Freshly cut grass
Rain washed sky
Sunlit sand
They remind me of home
Far away
But closer than my skin
