Monday Poetry Prompt: Virtue

This week let’s write a virtuous poem. Did you know there are seven heavenly virtues to match the seven deadly sins? I find the sins more interesting but you should still post a righteous poem in the comments below.

  1. In case anyone needs a reference, the seven virtues are: • humility, • liberality, • chastity, • abstinence, • patience, • kindness, • diligence

There was a young girl who was kind
    Her videos she would rewind
    Technology never stays
    VCRs went away
Now she’s old and she’s losing her mind

  2. The Middle Finger to The Seven Virtues

    Temperance rivals with yolo
    Charity veils sinister corruption
Chastity cops technicality in the arse
Diligence finds no place in fast money
Humility runs a mile from self promotion
Patience means Amazon vs of Amazon Prime
Kindness shies away from publicised name and shame

  3. I watched the movie “7”
Of the ways to avoid heaven
    My popcorn was wasted
    It didn’t get tasted
    All this on a date
    With a good mate
As we left we were reeling in laughter
