2019 April PAD Challenge: Day 27

Just two more days. Just two more days. Hope the poem-a-day challenge has been going well. Just two more days. And if you declined the challenge, hope you’ve been writing none the less. I didn’t like Sunday’s prompt so here’s Saturday’s.

For today’s prompt, pick a direction, make that the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. There are so many directions: north, south, up, down, left, right, over, under, etc. But there are also more specific directions like “Across the Way,” “Through the Woods,” and “Beyond the Clearing.” Or give directions like “Clean Your Room,” “Tie Your Shoes,” or “Get Over Here.”

I titled my poem, To The Moon., for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Note: Also inspired by the discussion on “Beginnings” at The Poet’s Lounge on Saturday:

    __There__
    It starts with a sigh,
a longing, an itch, a desire.
    Pick up snacks.
    Forget the map.
    There will be a destination
    in any direction we go.
It begins when ‘you are leaving…’
is in the rear view mirror.
