Monday Poetry Prompt

This week’s prompt: traveling at the speed of your soul

Soul1After traveling, have you ever felt the need to lie down on the ground and wait for your soul to catch up?

It happens to me every time I fly home from Europe. Usually these flights are daytime flights, you leave at noon local time and arrive at the East Coast around 4 pm. And I always wonder how I could have had breakfast with my sister in Germany this morning and now have dinner in Raleigh. – Flying is definitely too fast for my soul.

What is your soul’s speed? Can traveling not be fast enough or is walking the appropriate pace? What is the experience when you are on the move too fast? What is your ritual to ‘catch your breath’?

Happy Writing!
