Monday Poetry Prompt

This week’s prompt: Write about your Neighborhood

NeighborhoodWrite about what you observe every day … or what stands out the most about your neighborhood… what is special. If you look out a particular window of your home (your bedroom, the kitchen, the patio door…) what do you see?

Why do you live there? Do you like living in your neighborhood? If so, why do you feel like you belong there? Or if you don’t like it, why do you feel you don’t fit in?

Resident poet Dorianne Laux recently published an article about her neighborhood at Five Points in Raleigh where she lives with her husband and fellow poet Joe Millar.

Happy Writing!
