Today let’s write a poem celebrating human spaceflight since it’s the 60th anniversary of the first human to orbit the earth, Yuri Gagarin in Vostok 1. It’s also … Continue reading

April Poem-a-day Challenge: Active

Hope National Poetry Month has started well for everyone. I’m recapitulating yesterday’s prompt from the Write Better Poetry blog by Robert Lee Brewer. For today’s prompt, write an active poem. I’ll be following the Write Better Poetry blog (formerly Poetic Asides) for daily prompts and I’m sure there are plenty … Continue reading

Monday Poetry Prompt: Quirk

This week let’s write a quirk poem. Quirks can be humorous, harmless or they can reveal something sinister. It’s up to you. Post your quirk in the comments below. (BTW, in the anime series My Hero Academia a “quirk” is kind of like a superpower.)

Monday Poetry Prompt: Tap

This week let’s write a tap poem. You know that sound, as if someone were gently rapping, rapping at your chamber door. One can be tapped on the shoulder or tapped to do a job or all tapped out. Don’t be late (like I was with this prompt) post your poems in the comments below.

Monday Poetry Prompt: Polygon

This week let’s write a polygon poem. Have your poem feature a polygon of some form: a pentagon, a hexagon, an octagon, etc. Don’t be a square, post your polygonal poems in the comments below.

March Visual Poetry Prompt

Welcome to March! Post your puddles in the comment below.

This week let’s write an ocean poem. It’s a big thing, the ocean, inspiring poets for as long as there’s been poetry. Add your drops in the comments below.
