She used to sing
“Red and Yellow and Pink and Green”
to me on rainy days
on the walk home from school
when we were second grade
I was a brave one
talking to a girl
but I thought this girl was worth
the risk of getting coodies
with all of our days together on earth passed
I watch her from not so afar
my love falling gently like the drizzle
that coats her splendid umbrella
a unheard reprise of that original love song
He wore a rainbow wrist band
a rainbow medallion
a rainbow t-shirt may have been seen
proudly in Hotlanta
his stride covered the walkways
into the underground
yet overground
all night bar
and sought his rainbow dreams
when I saw him the next day
as I was afraid
his dreams were dismounted
and his rainbows lost their sparkle
but he is surely dancing
on colorful clouds
as rainbows are allowed
in a place
where love reigns

Agree with the poem. We could all use a better weather report. Get well soon.

Love the line “my love falling gently like the drizzle” Great stuff. (I’ve always thought girls were worth the risk of cooties.)
