Monday Poetry Prompt: Drain

This week let’s write a drain poem. Think about the act of liquids draining and come up with a new metaphor since the common colloquial of feeling “drained” has been done. Surprise me with something new. Just be sure to post the residue in the comments below.

    Poetry Prompt : drain

When negativity arrives, its best to learn to gently change ones’ thoughts.

Don’t jump on a toxic train
Unpleasant thoughts cause stress and strain
Wash them all away with rain
Let them slip right down the drain . . .

    Drain

    I await thee

your time your love your emotion

    I wait, open to you

the vibration the power the possibilities

drain them all from your well to mine

drain the best of you into me

and watch it circle back into a love like no-other, remixed, combined into the best version of us.

    I think l’ll use the D rain

Said Zeus to his man with the best brain

    What do you think

When he saw the man blink

And who’s respect he’d never gain

I think it a C the man said with a smile

And the D will just cause a complain.
