   Springtime Soft

   Tombstones turn soft in spring,
   skirted by flowers and light breeze
   wistful greys draped in wispy green
   Scattered around the burials
   like merry-weather friends that laugh
   in the face of life’s greatest spectacle
   Sitting together, watching sunsets
   for a while, even if just for a while
   Tombstones in flowery meadows
   somehow turn softer in spring…
