Monday Poetry Prompt: Winter Storm

This week let’s write a poem about a winter storm. As I type this on a frigid Sunday night, freezing rain is pattering my windows and I’m hoping I won’t wake up to cold, powerless house. But there is sledding so slide your poem into the comments below.

    Winter Storm

Winter is a wild white horse
    that cannot be contained.
    His hooves are clouds,
    his breath the snow
    that covers everything.
As he gallops through our world,
    it’s best to stand aside.
Clean up the havoc he has wreaked,
and watch your step, avoid the ice
    that he has left behind.
