Posted by Bartholomew Barker | February 3, 2025, 6:55 PMIt’s a pleasure, Mr Barker. What does the image invoke in you though? I’m curious. Be it through an explanation or poetry. I look forward to seeing your end of the spectrum!

Posted by A. Haze🌹 | February 4, 2025, 1:05 AMUnfortunately, I don’t think I’ll have time to write a response to this prompt. Alas, my life has become rather chaotic.

Posted by Bartholomew Barker | February 4, 2025, 5:38 PMHaha sounds like something worth learning from. I still believe that in all of the chaos, the heart eventually settles, and mostly in the most delicately gentle place of serenity. Trust the process, they say. In the meantime, we’ll continue to play with prompts.

Why do you treat me as a child
and dress me up for photos?
I’m not photogenic and you
make me run for cover
to our neighbor’s house where
I am not their runway model.

Posted by crazy4yarn2 | February 3, 2025, 7:03 PMThat Zigzagy Stuff
Rickrack was common decor
for aprons, children’s knickers,
and swirling skirts in days of yore.
Zigs were packaged wrapped
around rectangular cardboard
forms like seam binding.
I determine to find some zags
to embellish a crazy quilt.
In futile search of store’s fabric
department, I pass by hundreds
of ribbons, fringes, and laces.
Cannot find rickrack, finally
ask if the store carries such.
Clerk replied, Oh, that zigzagy
stuff, it’s with the ribbons.
Snuggled between ribbons,
and Velcro, wound around
cardboard rounds, rainbow
shades of rickrack are pristine
like kids in new Sunday clothes.
Prize at the end of the row
is shimmering gold spandex
lame, perfect for pet blankets.
