Monday Poetry Prompt: Quirk

This week let’s write a quirk poem. Quirks can be humorous, harmless or they can reveal something sinister. It’s up to you. Post your quirk in the comments below.

(BTW, in the anime series My Hero Academia a “quirk” is kind of like a superpower.)

    I don’t think I’d want to be a vampire
Yeah, they’re immortal and super strong
and can turn into a bat and fly away

But just how long DO they actually live?

They always seem to be getting staked
    by some wannabe Van Helsing
or set on fire by the sun
or thrown into some holy water and exploding

I bet if you take all the vampires that have ever lived
you’d find they only have a life span of a week

I’ll stick with what I have
and spend some nice afternoons at the beach

    Quincy was an odd one
usually he would oil his watch
I did not understand this peculiarity
    really, this behavior was odd
    kids took after him, too
    such an array of idiosyncrasies
