  1. The stagnant air of evil’s lair
held me captive in its snare.
    No clothes to wear,
    naked,
    bare;
    A sinner without
    a prayer.

T’was then my saviour came in glee
    to finally set me free.
    No need to flee,
    I’m safe now,
    see.
    His love extends
    to me.

  2. Broken glass
    still littering the floor
    where earlier
    the angry tried to take
    our voice

    a dissonant chord
    fortissimo
    held for too many measures

    reach down
    among those shards
    and pick up the flag
    and aright
    what they did take

  4. My pal, my psychic cat
    has gone,
    ‘mourning period is over’
    she returns to tell me
    time to rescue & befriend
    someone new
or is he going to rescue me.

  5. Save me in my dreams
as my muse slips in and prompts
    help me remember
for when morning comes I will
see the sun and know nothing
    of what was whispered.
