This week let’s write a belief poem. You could describe something you believe in fully or how it felt when you learned the truth about Santa Claus. Post your creed or screed in the comments below.

It’s questionable
subject to change depending
on events of the day
or life changes
depending on what changes
if it’s death for sure
then I will call out for hope
to reach another side
but one with sprinkles
and unicorns
because magic
seems a whole lot better
maybe, once again
i can taste cake
chocolate cake with ice cream, please

Posted by Lisa Tomey | June 15, 2020, 8:57 PMThe Redwing flashed his epaulettes
in the winter morning light
swaying on a cattail
in a breeze
inaudible
except for the wind
buffeting the window
the old percolator
pinged
for the last time this morning
The compressor in the frig has cycled off
And the strudel is still cold in the microwave
waiting for Start button to be pushed
Joanne is out of the shower
the last of water
echoed down the drain
In this interstitial moment
I do not have strain
to hear His still quiet voice
