Monday Poetry Prompt: Dissent

This week let’s write a dissent poem. If you’re still in the holiday spirit, feel free to try a Christmas Dissent poem and post the results below.

About Bartholomew Barker

Bartholomew Barker is one of the organizers of Living Poetry, a collection of poets and poetry lovers in the Triangle region of North Carolina. Born and raised in Ohio, studied in Chicago, he worked in Connecticut for nearly twenty years before moving to Hillsborough where he makes money as a computer programmer to fund his poetry habit.

  1. Santa Baby, I know you’re busy
    tonight of all nights
I have to tell you, I’ve been bad,
    but really I’m all right
I ate all your cookies but I’ll serve wine
    if you come here tonight
    Don’t you know, I don’t need toys
    to find some delight
    Santa Baby, just bring yourself
I’m naughty but it’s all right.
