Monday Poetry Prompt

poetry_Kanji_NameToday’s prompt is to write a dodoitsu. This Japanese poetic form consists of four lines with the syllabic structure 7-7-7-5 and no rhyme, often concerns love or work, and are usually comical.

Here’s my attempt:

surrounded by men all day
in suits or construction hats
tossing pleasantries like lures
but I never bite

These poems are small, so feel free to post yours in the comments section.

    On vacation, my true love
    You enjoy my company
You’re all hands and goo-goo eyes
    Until we get home

Much was know by the man
    And simply did he answer
    Confounded me I must admit
    Jesus! He disappeared!!

My apologies for my first post! Here is 7-7-7-5

The truth in knowledge has this man
    And simply did he answer
    Confounded me I admit
    God! He disappeared!!
