Monday Poetry Prompt

Nutshell

This week’s prompt: Write a 10-word poem on an encounter you had this past week with another person.

If you feel like it, write multiple poems on different people you met which could then form a mosaic poem of encounters.

Happy Writing!

I’ve got three. First for a mystery woman:
Venus rises slow in the west and subsides too soon.

    Second for a different woman:
Just one date then crazy comes from my first stalker.

Third for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:
Not soldiers, it is protesters I thank for our freedom.

Here is my mosaic for this past week:

Fantastic, working poems with friend, Long Island circle trumps all.
Piano teacher suffered concussion, notes on music sheets are dancing.
Poetry workshop night, animated discussion of great poems with friends.
Gym guy’s funny and handsome, oh he also trains me.
Past washing over me, ex in-laws are visiting, great friends.
I met the wicked witch of the west, loved her.
Book Club: chatting, eating, falling in love with Mark Doty.
