Monday Poetry Prompt: Halloween

This Friday is All Hallows’ Eve so let’s write a Halloween poem! How could this not be the prompt but I must insist on new work. No reposting old Halloween poems. The blood should still be warm, screams still echoing off toilet-papered trees.

Also wanted to let all the Monday Poetry Prompt poets know that Living Poetry is hosting a Halloween Poetry Party on Zoom this Friday from 7:30pm to 9pm EDT. (That’s 2330 to 0100 GMT to be precise.) Join the Living Poetry Meetup group for more details and to RSVP.

    Too Scary

    Spirits, goblins, ghosts, and witches
    promise sugar-coated fright.

    The biggest fear of Halloween
    is running out of candy.
