Monday Poetry Prompt: Climax, Leg, Quite

This week let’s write a poem with the words climax, leg and quite in it. This is another of those prompts where I randomly choose three words from a list of the top 1000 words in the English language plus a few of my favorites. Post your poems in the comments below.

    My First and Last 5K

    I was quite the innocent.
Three miles didn’t seem too long.
The run was through the mountains,
    fire breaks, uphill and down.
    My legs turned into jelly.
Yes, I made it to the end,
    But barely could stay standing.
The climax of the day was
soaking in a steaming hot tub.

It wasn’t long before I found
    a far less painful hobby.

This was a family affair. Thanks to husband and son for helping shape it

    The climax of the evening
    Was the leg of lamb
    Quite tasty
