Monday Poetry Prompt: Vacation

This week let’s write a vacation poem. It’s that time of the year (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere) where we tend to take some time off. Write about a vacation past, present or future. Ideal or disastrous. Family roadtrip or solo adventure.

Just don’t forget to post your poem in the comments below upon your return.

    Vacation

Take this job and shove it!
    Toes in the water.
    Butt in the sand.
Oh, I’d love to call it quits.
    ~
I’ve got better things to do,
    then worry about your stress.
    Cool ocean breeze,
    9 to 5, get a clue.
    ~
    Change my latitude!
    Yes!
    Come get me salty.
    Change my attitude.
    ~
Work, work, work, til I’m black and blue.
    Aching head.
    Tired body.
No! Don’t let this week be through.
