    Soaring (a Senryu)

    There’s an old saying
What spirals up, must come down
    I’m still Soaring up

    Flying, Soaring High

I close my eyes and yet I see

    all that needs to be

the wind hisses as it hits

    wings wide

    I am mighty

    I am vast

    in the skies

    Soaring?

    Searing pain. Work wing!
Free falling too fast. Can’t fly.
    Hello ground. Be soft.
