This week let’s write a prediction poem. Put on your best Nostradamus hat and tell us about the future. (Rhyming quatrains, encouraged but not required.) Post your prophecies in the comments below.

Posted by Bartholomew Barker | February 24, 2025, 7:14 PMwe could get stuck
with a clone donald duck
even though
we live down under
his hate consumes
and travels like thunder
elections are soon
right wingers sing his tune
polls promise a win
the money will roll in
said and done
that’s all that counts
wealth and riches
beat a sermon on the mount
love thy neighbour
especially if his rich
but if he’s poor
throw him in the ditch
of course you can push a camel
through the eye of a needle
all you need to do
is a side bit of wheedle
let’s do a deal
see how great it feels
money honey
and lots of playboy bunnies

I predict that I will die.
It’s inescapable.
I can’t say the where and when,
but maybe I’ll forestall it.
Perhaps it’s best that I don’t know,
I’d hold on to the hours.
Ignorance is better bliss.
I’ll love life to the fullest.

————————————————
The proud will raise an awful song
The path leads to a dreadful ruin
Many will think there’s nothing wrong
With the vile poison that they are spewing
The sun doth hides its light from thee
Whilst slimes of musk coat your veneer
The twisted cross will fail you’ll see
Our nation will heal, so say this seer

Posted by Bartholomew Barker | February 24, 2025, 7:58 PMI had to go for a story on this one, Bartholemew- I know that’s not what we’re doing here, but the muse had other ideas. I will link it, anyway, never know who might jump over and see what’s going on.-
Oh and it’s not going live till Tuesday- so you have plenty of time to let me know if my prose is not wanted….
