Monday Poetry Prompt: Apostrophe, Hour, Make

This week let’s write a poem with the words apostrophe, hour and make in it. This is another of those prompts where I randomly choose three words from a list of the top 1000 words in the English language plus a few of my favorites. Post your poems in the comments below.

I don’t not know why I didn’t know about this prompt, but now I do! Thanks to Chico’s Mom for tuning me on to it!

    Sub-zero

    Ten o’clock this morning

    it’s down to minus four.

    Horses and cats are fed,

dog and I are at the hour

    for time inside, a puppy

nap for her and cocoa for me.

    Will we make it through

    today and the next four

slated to be just like it?

    My spellcheck doesn’t

    like me to use contractions

    nor associated apostrophes.

    It seems to prefer words

    separate and spelled out.

    I wager it’s sub-zero’s cold

    that leaves spellcheck cranky.

    Minus temps by midday

    surely leave me crabby

and I’m loth to take time

    to fully spell anything.

    SHADORMA

    a blue shaped
    apostrophe s
    his tattoo
    was awful
so sad to see an old man’s
    attempt to stay young

Maybe i am too late for this post?
