With Saint Valentine’s Day looming, this week let’s write a love poem. I’m sure we all have love poems sitting in our unpublished pile but I must insist you write something new this week. Don’t just pull an old one off the stack. Post something fresh and lovely in the comments below.

I shall not say its name
shall not seek it
shall not even conceive it
for it blows along, hidden
even on days filled with white
and evenings turned into bleakness
even, on those said days and nights it creeps
into dreams and hearts and minds
I will not remember
I will not wonder
I will not be caught

Posted by Melissa Lemay | February 10, 2025, 9:47 PMValentine’s Day Loves
They are with me,
when you are not.
With you we are we,
with them I am three.
You are not free,
and never will be.
To me they are loyal,
I am all they’ll ever need.
Just like you and me,
they are aging rather quickly,
and much faster than I’d wish,
still they give me love and comfort daily.
This Valentine’s Day as I sit lonely,
I’ll not be alone at all.
My pups will be home with me,
love and affection wholly and completely.
