This week let’s write a sour poem. Dive into the visceral when you taste lemon or sour candy. Explore the figurative like being a sourpuss. Whatever the flavor, post your poem in the comments below.

    Tart lemon on tongue,
Sour notes dance, tease and linger,
    A puckered grimace,
    Sourpuss stance, cheeky and brash,
    Embrace the tang, life’s contrast.

    Indigestion

    Words swarm in my head,

    stinging, dropping sour

    into my gut. No gumdrops

    these, no pretty poetry.

    My tongue twists in disgust

    as syllables drop out.
