This week let’s write a poem with the words capital, enjambment and mistletoe in it. This is another of those prompts where I (mostly) randomly choose three words from a list of the top 1000 words in the English language plus a few of my favorites. Post your poems in the comments below.

Under city lights,
Capital pulsates with life,
Enjambment of dreams.
Amidst concrete, love takes root,
Mistletoe whispers promise.

My love and I went out to eat
in our nation’s capital.
We saw mistletoe hanging
from the cafe entrance.
The door closed on my poor big toe
when we were busy kissing,
enjambing metal into bone.
My present now is filled with pain.
But kissing makes it better.
