It’s getting to be that time of year, so let’s write a spooky poem. It could be a poetic ghost story or maybe describe a haunted house. Let’s get it started now then it can be revised and ready for the Big Day at the end of the month.

In fog, he leans against the post,
the light above him halo.
As you approach, you feel his chill.
You sense he is no angel.
He knows you want no witnesses
when he steals your composure.
He offers you what you want most
if you accept his deal.
He flips a coin as though to say
you won’t miss what you give him.
Before you rue what you have lost
just say no thanks and walk away.
If it sounds too good to be true,
It isn’t good at all.
