April Visual Poetry Prompt

This will be the only Living Poetry prompt for April because it’s National Poetry Month and a lot of places are posting daily prompts to facilitate the April Poem-a-Day Challenge. I encourage you to follow NaPoWriMo or Write Better Poetry and join the fun. Even if you don’t share these poems-a-day, it is worthy practice and your poetry will improve. Two of my most anthologized poems started as April poems-a-day.

If you know of anyone else sending daily prompts, please mention them in the comments below and, of course, post your puddle-wonderful poem there too.

  1. Joy-kill Reality

Don’t fit in those boots no more
Forgot how to be joyful on the little things in life
    Can’t blame the overgrown feet
It’s the fault of the grown-up mind
