This week let’s write a favor poem. Have you ever done someone a favor or had one done for you? How’d it turn out? Be careful what you wish for and post your poem in the comments below.
(I couldn’t find a good stock image for “favor” so here’s a dog in a Halloween sweater.)

Do me a favor
leave that sweater on the shelf
I am not a pumpkin
or an elf
just in case
holidays are your jam
I am a dog
who likes his toys
give me the stuffed squirrel
instead
Signed, Ruff

Ha! Love it! Didn’t mean for that poor pup to be part of the prompt but you incorporated him well.

People disappoint and assume
paying concern with favor
a currency in fashion
just so the give and take,
their lives, their hearts, feelings
remain worthy of transactions
in a soulless marketplace where
friendships are sold

Slow and long
I grilled the meat
Marinated for three days
with salt, smoke and heat
I would favor
a more tender cut
she said with mouthful
of the freshly sliced butt
You’ll need to try
this tender heart
still beating strong
you know my best part
With the sun now set
behind the grill
White clouds tinged red
in the alpenglow above the hill
