This week let’s write a love poem for St. Valentine’s Day. I’m sure you poets already have at least one, if not dozens of love poems in some folder, so I must insist on new ink for this prompt. Exercise those poetry muscles and post the burn in the comments below.

What is that animal in the picture? A dog…a rabbit..? Is it just me?
Fine….
They say Love is blind
It must be true
Cause you’re not attractive
but I love you.
ha ha…. go away

I have no idea what species animal is in the pic. That’s why I chose it.

I tried to write a beautiful sonnet
A verse in elegant tone and meter
Sitting eating a buttered farm crumpet
Watching bluebirds enjoying our feeder
It was then that I realized I don’t have the skill
I am far too undisciplined to follow the rule
and wonder if more than my body is over the hill
if the mind I have left is just really a fool’s
But I know only one thing with this dimming of light
my love for you is untainted by the passage of days
Your body calls to me night after night
and your beautiful visage, I’ll follow your way
Your complete person is what I adore
Mind, body and spirit I love more ‘n more

I run to you
in my mind
when we are apart
my thoughts sit by your side
when you arrive my longing
holds back, savoring
the heart’s revelry.
I am symbiotic with your desire.
Fall!
I am falling into adoration.

Many years ago
The best Choice that I have made
Is daily choose you
Remember our wedding day
When we said our vows
It’s the daily choice we make
That makes our love abound
