This week let’s write a mistletoe poem. I found the first sentence of its Wikipedia entry very inspiring, “Mistletoe is the common name for obligate hemiparasitic plants in the order Santalales.” It’s a parasite and its taxonomic order starts with Santa! How can you not write a poem?
Give it a kiss then post it in the comments below.

Mistletoe, the cultural tic for a first romantic kiss
Gives the trots when ingested
Belladonna flushes the cheek, quickens the breath, raises the heartbeat
Like a first kiss
This year, Santa, I want my mistletoe kiss from someone like you
Warm and kind but not too tubby
The pretty boys with hard pecs and tight asses
Always disappoint in the end
