Monday Poetry Prompt: Explain, Remark, Carry

This week let’s write a poem with the words explain, remark and carry in it. This is another of those prompts where I randomly choose three words from a list of the top 1000 words in the English language plus a few of my favorites. Post your poems in the comments below.

      Pseudo-allies

      She casually remarked that
Young men are getting vasectomies these days
Feminist allies who are changing the narrative
Of a woman being solely responsible for procreation

      My heart ached to explain
Both partners carry half of the only human act
That approximates the divine action of the first Maker
But I couldn’t find the words

    Enough

    Waste no time to explain
Save your breath from insulting remarks
Carry on a life of your own destruction
Draw a line in the sand
    Here I stand

    Explain to me
    The wisdom of the Sirach
    Written 2500 years ago
That still carry such value even today
    Adamant
    Remarks mined far earlier
    From lives lived
    with eyes open
    and mind less tethered
When God was not so far away
