This week let’s write a poem with the words air, certain and raise in it. This is another of those prompts where I randomly choose three words from a list of the top 1100 words in the English language. Post your poems in the comments below.

I’m not sure the image is necessary. I think your poetry stands on its own.

I think it gives the context of the Three Sisters is an actual scenic view of Australia landscape. I often feel I am saying enough in the poem for the reader to get where I am coming from. An over explianing tendency, haha

I look out the window
Leaden sky that says snow
Cries of “We need milk and bread!” unleashed across the neighborhood
as cars leave their driveways for store shelves already empty
I sit in my chair
Look at the fire
and wait for flakes to fly
in this incarnations only flight
to their beautiful common grave

Monday Poetry Prompt
We all waited patiently
Not knowing what to expect
Time passed on, slowly,
Anticipating what would happen
As the clock’s big hand hit the 12
I felt the air raise for certain
It actually tightened
When he walked in the door.

she breathed in the air
certain that her day would be
a good one to ask
for a raise, since she deserved
to have reward for her work
her boss arrived late
this was a bad sign, for sure
as this always meant
a fuss with his wife, and then
he would be in a sour state
pushing air from lungs
she sat back in her office chair
tapped out her request
for a raise, certain that the
cloud would lift from his bad mood
she gave her request
he reviewed it, with a frown
that’s when he noticed
the warmth of the bright sunbeam
smiling, he gave approval
