Monday Poetry Prompt: Thoughtful

brain-in-hand-1312350-639x424This week, let’s write a thoughtful poem. Could it be that human intelligence comes from being social creatures? That would give our prompt a nice double meaning. Post your thoughtful thoughts below.

Cogito, ergo sum. – René Descartes

I think therefore I am grumpy, sad or happy.
What happens to us doesn’t matter.
    Our thoughts about the events
    determine our feelings.
If the tree falls in the forest
but I don’t know about it
I don’t care if makes a sound or not.
    One woman’s weeds
    are another woman’s salad.
If I see a thought coming but run out of ink
    before I write it down,
have I really had that thought?
