This week’s prompt: ‘Recruited Present’
What does recruited present mean to you? In our discussion at Poetry Between The Lines, we took a closer look at 4 poems by Rae Armantrout. She ended her poem ‘Eyes’ with this phrase “so that things stand / as they stand // in the recruited present.”
What have you ‘recruited’ into your life, i.e. actively sought after and obtained like an object, a degree/education, a person, a truth…? Write about it.
