Craft, Poetry Prompts

Monday Poetry Prompt

1538935433_b67db1b8cc_mToday’s prompt is a poetic form called the cento, which is Latin for “patchwork.” This poetic form is made up of lines from poems by other poets. Though poets often borrow lines from other writers and mix them in with their own, a true cento is composed entirely of lines from other sources. You may read the poem, “Wolf Cento” by Simone Muench at the poets.org website as an example.

Happy writing!
